From January 20th, 2015 I
finally created my wordle on April 21, 2015.This was due to the malfunctioning
computers at Elab. I was fascinated by the layout of the wordle; that I created two wordle instead of one. The themes
were software and family, it was exciting and cool to see the different layouts
and color combinations. Renae and Shanique were extremely helpful as they
assist the class with unloading java to create the word cloud. Thank you both
for your assistance folks.

Catching up on assignments
On April 14th, 2015 most of
the class time was spent blogging and completing assignments for the class.
This was good because I was able to reduce the work load and the cramming of
assignments which I would normally do.
Hyperlink makes task easier and more interesting
On March 31st 2015, I entered
the class with a headache, at this point I wanted to go home, but I made up my
mind to remain at class. Miss Reid was very alert; I liked the approach she
used as she ensured that everyone was on point. Because I had missed the
previous class on PowerPoint which was March 10th 2015. I was a
little confused. However after the assignment was explained and miss showed me
an example I realized that the task was easy.
I began by creating the power point
based on the topic I had chosen “Living and Non-living things”. We were told to
find the information required for the content, but instead of copying and pasting
the information, retain the Uniform Resource Locator(URL) address to hyperlink
the information. Shawn taught the class how to hyperlink the information. This
was truly and interesting task as I was able to use what I had learnt from this
lesson in another class. I have also realized that if I had condition my mind
to complete this task when Nashana had provided me with the instructions I
could have completed the task. I enjoyed this class because it can be used to
write lesson plans as well as make the lesson more interactive.
Introduction
On January 13, 2015, I was
introduced to a course entitled Information
and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Primary Education Classroom. This course examined the
importance of integrating Information Communication Technology in the Primary Schools’ Curriculum .To
enhance students creativity and knowledge through the use of technology. Furthermore, this course provides teachers
with the opportunity to connect prior knowledge to new learning. Therefore,
teachers are more equipped, to plan and formulate interesting task for teaching
students. Teachers are also able to develop new methodologies and teaching
strategies through integrating technology. Therefore, teachers must become familiar,
competent and practical so that they can use technology to engage students in a
richer learning experience.
Extend your knowledge to others because you never know how much that person will learn.
On March 17th2015 Shawn
taught the class. He began by teaching the class how to retrieve a professional
PowerPoint from off the fppt website; this was new to me. Even though, I enjoyed
creating power points it was great viewing and using an already created power
point. Additionally, the class was very informative and engaging as I learnt
new information. Some of the things that
I learnt were how to animate words on a power point and how to download a video
off you- tube. These techniques that I learnt were extremely useful because I
was able to independently download videos off you tube for my drama
presentation.
Doubts restrict progress
On
March 10th 2015, I was absent from the class, due to reasons beyond
my control. However, Nashana kindly provided me with the instructions from
class to create the PowerPoint. Although she had explained how to construct the
PowerPoint I was still baffled. I decided that I would have attempted to create
the PowerPoint but because of doubts I did not carry out the task.
allow yourself to step out of your comfort zone.
